I wonder if you can pick up my accent on the phone

I really didn't mean for 2 months to pass, really I didn't. It's just that life got in the way, that's really no excuse, but I have no other.

Am in London at the moment, in the past few months I've moved thrice, flown overseas, shifted time zones, jostled with locals on the tube, and taken a shining to English ale.

When we arrived in London, the air was full of tiny little floating bits of pollen, that looked a bit like snow drifts. I loved it. People who have hayfever, not so much perhaps...

One thing I don't like about London is that there is absolutely no decent priced vintage in any of the charity shops. I went to Portobello and it was fantastic, but having so much amazing stuff in one place takes away the thrill of the find.

There is only one vintage dress in my luggage, and it's this one (I didn't want to run the risk of ruining anything else in my pack!) I'm finding it so difficult... can anyone tell me how you survive for one year with only enough clothes to fit into a pack?!

I'll try my best to update when I can, although it is difficult when on the move. If you're reading this, thank you for staying with me! X

You're in London! Did you move there permanently or is it just a brief trip thing?

Hi! I've just come across your blog and it's great!

In response to the 'how does one live out of a pack for a year?' I suggest very simple basics (black dress, skirt, trousers/jeans, a few tops etc. and LOTS of accessories - lovely vintage scarfs, earrings, brooches, necklaces - that can change up a re-hashed outfit. I only lived out of a pack in London/Europe for 6 months but this is how I survived!

And there are good things at decent prices in some of the London charity just takes a lot of searching...

Have fun! I'm jealous!

LONDON??? That's so cool, you must be having a ball. As to the pack question - i have no idea, i always pack way to much for just a weekend!

Sarah: a little bit from column A, a little bit from column B! I'm here semi permanently for the next 1-2 years!

Oniomania: yes, I'm finding it veeery difficult!

Brodie: hehe, I wish I was better at combining the two!

Missa: thanks, I like it too :)

Lola: thanks for the tips! That was my theory too, I brought a pack full of black/grey/navy things, but now I'm getting clothes envy when I see all the lovely London girls with their cute vintage frocks and bags!

Pretty Little Pictures: I'm exactly like that too! Which is why I think I'm having so much trouble...

You're in London! O my goodness. Does this mean you'll be blogging more often now that you're more settled? I would love that ;)

Such cute pics! I love the pollen, it really does look like snow

Simple. Don't pack for a year. Pack a few treasured pieces and then some less so, and have fun bartering those off for new snazztastic ones when you can, and voila, continually changing wardrobe. Accessories are always an insta-change to a outfit too. But come on, who wants the cheap way out?

Granted, the opportunity probably takes a trained eye and person, but it might be fun to try.

London vintage prices are a killer. I think you really need to get into the countryside for thrifting paydirt.

Enjoy your travels. Great title.
